A notarial act is an official act performed by a notary public to certify the authenticity of signatures, documents, and oaths. Common notarial acts include acknowledgments, oaths or affirmations (jurats), and copy certifications. Notarial acts are essential for validating important legal documents such as wills, powers of attorney, and real estate transactions, ensuring they are legally binding.
IPEN stands for In-Person Electronic Notarization. It’s like a hybrid of old school meets new school—you still meet your notary in person, but instead of paper and pen, everything is signed and notarized digitally on a secure device.
Unlike Remote Online Notarization (RON), there’s no video call or remote session. You sign on-site, just like traditional notarization, but faster, paperless, and fully compliant.
In Colorado, each electronically notarized document includes a DAN (Document Authentication Number), a unique code from the Secretary of State that verifies the notarization is official and legally recorded.
Denver Mobile Notary Services uses approved tools and secure software to offer professional, on-site IPEN services, especially popular for site plans, building permits, legal documents, and surveys.
Have questions or want to schedule an IPEN session? Call or message us—we’re happy to help.

Remote Online Notarization (RON) enables you to notarize documents remotely using audio-visual technology. From the comfort of your home or office, you can upload your document, verify your identity, and connect with a notary public through a secure video call. Denver Mobile Notary Services provides a streamlined and convenient RON service, saving you money on travel fees.
Please note: Colorado Remote Online Notarization (RON) is ideal for US residents only. For foreigners you must use RON with Biometrics which the State of Colorado does not allow.
Important: Colorado notary laws require that RON sessions are recorded and stored securely on the RON platform. These recordings are not stored on your or the notary’s computer.
Please note that a notary public is not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice. Make sure to check with the original document provider to ensure they accept RON.

If the remotely located individual is outside the United States, the following conditions must be satisfied:
The notary public must not have actual knowledge that the notarial act is prohibited in the jurisdiction where the remotely located individual is physically located at the time of the act.

A matter that will be filed with or is currently before a court, governmental entity, or other entity in the United States.
Property located in the United States.
A transaction substantially connected to the United States.
Please note that a notary may not remotely notarize any record relating to the electoral process, including circulator's affidavits and candidate petitions. Additionally, a notary may not notarize a will or codicil or any acknowledgment required under sections 15-11-502 or 15-11-504, C.R.S., except as specifically provided in the Colorado Uniform Electronic Wills Act.

A Colorado apostille is a certificate issued by the Colorado Secretary of State that authenticates a notarized or official document for use in another country that is part of the Hague Apostille Convention. Common reasons include studying abroad, international adoptions, using marriage or birth certificates overseas, and conducting business internationally.
We are less than half a mile from the Colorado Secretary of State in downtown Denver. This proximity allows us to hand-deliver documents and often complete the apostille process faster than other providers.
Turnaround times depend on the service level and the Secretary of State’s workload. Standard processing usually takes several business days, while expedited services can be much faster.
For details on pricing, timelines and expedited options, visit our apostille & authentications service page.
We offer different service levels depending on your needs:
A standard option for documents that are already notarized or certified.
A concierge option where we handle notarization, pickup, and delivery.
An expedited option for urgent same-day or next-day requests.

Most documents submitted for a Colorado apostille must first be notarized or certified. If your documents still need notarization, you can bundle this step with our concierge apostille services, which include notarization, pickup, and delivery for added convenience.
Yes. If the country is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, your document may need authentication or legalization instead.
